Why This Matters
With limited capacity, in-person awareness has depended heavily on one person’s time and energy. This Ambassador Programme expands that reach by training multiple people with lived experience to speak in schools, workplaces and healthcare settings — increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and creating a sustainable community network.
By building accessibility, evaluation and community trust into the programme from the start, the project is designed to be repeatable, scalable and sustainable, and Her Voice Communications is proud to support Endometriosis South Coast in delivering it.
Designing a Community Ambassador Programme for Endometriosis South Coast
The challenge
Endometriosis South Coast wanted to expand its impact beyond online awareness and create a sustainable, community-led programme that could:
Amplify lived experience safely and ethically
Reduce stigma around endometriosis and adenomyosis
Deliver education in schools, workplaces, healthcare, and community settings
Empower individuals with lived experience to become confident advocates
The organisation needed a clear structure, recruitment strategy, messaging framework, and delivery plan to make the programme viable, inclusive, and funder-ready.
My role
As PR Manager for Endometriosis South Coast, I led the communications planning for a 12-month Ambassador Programme. Working closely with the Founder, I supported the development of the programme structure, recruitment messaging, and delivery approach.
My work focused on recruitment communications, planning how ambassadors would be onboarded and supported, identifying suitable community settings for outreach, and embedding feedback and reflection into the programme from the outset.
